Ildikó is a qualified music teacher (QTS) with over 20 years experience teaching and directing in a wide range of contexts: festivals, theatre, schools, colleges, prisons, social inclusion projects and arts events.
She has a natural and engaging teaching style and puts her students at ease with humour and warmth. Her specialisms range from electroacoustic composition, song-writing, developing performance technique, bands, one to one vocal technique and directing choirs.
She has developed her own schemes of work for schools inlcuding Music in Warfare and The Science of Sound.

PUPPET THEATRE BARGE 2000-2001
Maritonetttist for the Puppet Theatre Barge, Little Venice in London.
Performing adaptation of Shakespere’s Macbeth. The company toured primary schools in Westminster running shadow puppet workshops with performances by the pupils infront of the school.


BROMLEY MASSIVE 2006

Documentary video about youth crime and street culture in the suburbs of London.
An outreach project funded by Bromley Council to tackle teen gangs and rising youth crime. Ildikó connected with groups of young people in order to discover their fears and hopes and shine a light on the world through their eyes.
OVAL HOUSE THEATRE- THE TEMPEST June 2008

A group of young people are confronted with a Shakespeare play and completely nonplussed. The language is alienating, they find little to identify with in the characters or their predicaments. Then the play opens up to them, and gradually, without quite realising it, they fall under its spell.
Rob Curry, Anthony Fletcher and Nicholai La Barrie direct this re-imagining of Shakespeare’s work, in a production designed by Charlie Cridlan and music composed by Ildikó Kerék.


OVAL HOUSE SUMMER SCHOOL, The ILIAD- RETOLD August ’09
Music directed and composed by Ildikó Kerék. A site-specific performance with over 50 young people under the age of 16. Oval House Theatre’s summer school brings The Iliad – Homer’s epic poem of the Trojan War – to life on a south London stage.
